The Tour De Rock fundraising event started this weekend in Port Alice.
A team of emergency responders are cycling for 14 days on Vancouver Island, raising money for childhood cancer research and support services at the Canadian Cancer Society.
The event goes from Sept. 20 until Oct. 3. Tour de Rock riders will engage area residents with stops at schools, local businesses and community events on their journey across the region to raise funds to support children affected by cancer and their families.
