GODERICH – The Goderich Laketown Band is recruiting new members.

If you have musical experience in playing a brass, woodwind or percussion instrument, the band is interested in hearing from you. If it has been years since you played, the band also offers lessons and rents out instruments at a low cost for those who don’t happen to own their own.

“Our practices are relaxed and fun, and it is a great social time where you’ll meet people of all ages who share a love of music,” a press release from the band said. “It has been well documented that playing a musical instrument is good for both your physical and your mental well-being, and unlike other sports, it is something you can do well into old age.”
