ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The Missouri Powerball player who won a record jackpot has claimed the prize.
The Missouri Lottery did not release the winner’s name, but announced that the player claimed his prize at the Missouri Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City.
Asked what he plans to do now that he is a multi-millionaire, the winner said, “I’m going to just do me for a year.”
He went on to explain that he is a homebody who is looking forward to spending time with his wife, relaxing. He added with a laugh that his wife was “going to drag me out of town now.”
The Missouri Lottery player won half of a $1.787 billion jackpot on Sept. 6. The winning ticket was purchased at the QuikTrip on Lusher Road in St. Louis County.
