RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The removal of Confederate monuments in Richmond between 2020 and 2022 remains fresh in many peoples minds and phones.
It was a time of nationwide protest and calls for racial justice following the death of George Floyd.
Richmond Public Library’s Special Collections is asking the public to share those memories, so that it can preserve the city’s history.
“It is the prime time to collect some of those materials before it is lost to time, essentially,” Chloe McCormick, a senior special collections librarian at the Richmond Public Library, said.
The library’s Special Collections already holds a place for Monument Collections .
