Nearly 300 early voters in Richmond received wrong ballots

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) -On the first day of early voting, the Richmond Office of Elections announced that nearly 300 early voters received the wrong ballots. Now, the Office of Elections is working to make things right.

Standing in long lines on election day is something many people try to avoid. So the chance to vote early is usually a blessing in disguise.

However, this past Friday, some people received ballots that had a mistake - they had the wrong House of Delegates race.

When some Richmond voters heard about the mishap, many of them were shocked that something like this could happen.

“That’s a pretty big mistake to make, especially when election integrity is being called into question,” Leigh Echelberger, Richmond resident, said.

In total, three precincts were impacted.
