The San Francisco 49ers pulled off a big 16-15 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, coming from behind to hit a game-winning field goal and improve to 3-0 with two divisional wins on the season.
It was another game filled with ups and downs, as the 49ers found themselves in a precarious position down 15-13 with 3:15 remaining and on defense. But, as they’ve done in the past two weeks, the team found a way to make big plays on both sides of the ball to win another close game.
Heading into the game, one of my biggest keys was for head coach Kyle Shanahan to trust backup quarterback Mac Jones to cook. The Cardinals were one of the best run defenses over the first two weeks, and San Francisco was going to need to take advantage of Arizona’s injuries in the secondary.
