Efton Chism III has yet to make his NFL debut with the Patriots , but the young receiver appears to be doing everything right behind the scenes.

“He’s been awesome since the day he got here,” quarterback Drake Maye said on WEEI on Monday.

Maye added Chism has been tagging along with veterans like Mack Hollins.

“You always see him staying after and getting extra minutes and drawing up plays, and drawing up the play sheet,” Maye said.

The undrafted rookie emerged during training camp and made the 53-man roster, but he’s been inactive for New England’s first three games. Maye believes it’s only a matter of time before Chism’s time comes.
