A conviction and sentencing in a GTA kidnapping, torture and sex-assault case have exposed the shocking details of a 2022 crime.

The story involves a woman’s tormentors bundling her into an SUV in Vaughan, tying her to a chair, stripping her naked and hitting her legs with a hammer at a home in Barrie.

The woman, A.T. (who’s name is protected by a publication ban), was also subjected to men burning her hair and dragging a needle, which they said was filled with heroin, up and down her body under the threat of injection, should she not pay them $1 million in bitcoin.

The syringe, later found by York Region Police, who staged a “massive” investigation to find the woman, was filled with fentanyl, the court heard.

It’s still unclear who organized or paid for the men to commit these crimes.
