INDEPENDENCE, La. —

A couple has been arrested in Tangipahoa Parish after allegedly running a drug operation out of their home in Tickfaw.

According to deputies, they received a tip from the community about suspicious behavior at a home in the 16000 block of Johnson Lane in Tickfaw.

After several days of surveillance operations, deputies were able to confirm that both suspects were conducting illegal narcotics sales out of the home and obtained search and arrest warrants.

On Wednesday, Sept. 17, TPSO Narcotics and Hammond SWAT conducted a search and found half a pound of methamphetamines, some hidden in toolboxes and blankets, a stolen gun and a stolen car.
