Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill is joining 16 other states to protect free speech on college campuses.
Murrill and other attorneys general have sent a letter to the presidents and deans of universities and colleges across the country, urging them to protect free speech on their campuses after the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Advertisement
"LSU has led in defending free speech. I hope all of our State institutions will do that. The right to free speech is above all others, and we must protect it," Murrill said.
In the letters, the attorneys general write that some university officials are using Kirk's murder as a justification to shut down free speech on campus.
