SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- San Francisco police arrested four individuals and seized six dirt bikes and an ATV on Sunday evening as part of a crackdown on illegal dirt bike riding in the city, officials announced Monday.
The arrests come amid increasing concerns about reckless dirt bike riders who have been intimidating pedestrians and evading law enforcement by zipping through traffic. The suspects face charges including joyriding, possession of a stolen vehicle, driving without a license, and lacking insurance or registration.
"Making these arrests is critical across the city," said San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie on Monday.
