(KRON) -- A preliminary 3.0 earthquake shook the East Bay area on Monday evening, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The earthquake happened at 6:21 p.m. in Berkeley, about one mile away from the quake that shook early Monday morning.

The epicenter of Monday evening's earthquake is about one mile away from the epicenter of the 4.3 earthquake early Monday morning, according to USGS.

This most recent earthquake was felt in Pinole. The latest earthquake strikes about 16 hours after the quake in Berkeley recorded at 2:56 p.m. That quake was felt across the East Bay in Walnut Creek, Martinez, and Alameda, and across the Bay in San Francisco and Sausalito.
