MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A convicted felon has been charged with multiple drug and gun charges after police searched his car on Thursday, according to Memphis police.

Davis Hamilton, 58, was charged with convicted felon in possession of a handgun, possession of a firearm during the commision of a dangerous felony, prohibited weapon, possession of marijuna, and felony drug possession for: aprazolam, dextroamphetamine, oxycodone, methadone, hydrocodone, methadone, hydrocodone, oxycontin, and carisoprodol.

MPD said on Sept. 18, at 7:40 a.m., its Multi-Agency Gang Unit tried to serve a search warrant at a residence in the 900 block of Saxon Avenue, but no one answered the door.

Officers forced their way and found Hamilton on a sofa.
