SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - An Upstate teacher aide has filed a federal lawsuit after she was fired over an alleged social media post made on Charlie Kirk’s passing.
According to the lawsuit, Lauren Vaughn, a teacher assistant at River Ridge Elementary, was terminated on Sept. 15 because of an off-duty Facebook post critiquing Kirk’s second amendment position. Now, she is suing Spartanburg County School District Five, the district’s Board of Trustee and Superintendent Randall Gary.
