ATLANTA — The Atlanta Falcons have fired wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard following the team's slow start to the season.
The Falcons, who were shut out 30-0 by divisional foe Carolina on Sunday to start the season 1-2, also announced that passing game coordinator T.J. Yates will now take over responsibilities of coaching wide receivers.
Atlanta has gotten off to an extremely sluggish start offensively to begin the season, scoring just three touchdowns in three games and only attempting five passes of 20 or more air yards so far.
In a news conference on Monday, head coach Raheem Morris said offensive coordinator Zac Robinson will be moving down to the field to more quickly relay play calls, rather than being in the booth upstairs.
