LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A University of Nebraska-Lincoln student was arrested on Saturday after he allegedly damaged a television screen during the Nebraska vs. Michigan football game at Memorial Stadium.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police Department responded to a report of a vandalism that happened in section 11 at 3:36 p.m.

A Lancaster County Sheriff deputy said they witnessed a 21-year-old student throw a plastic water bottle at a television screen and crack the screen.

According to police, the student spoke to authorities and admitted to throwing the water bottle.

Nebraska Athletics IT estimated the television to be worth $6,000. It will have to be removed, and additional labor costs will be needed to replace the television, according to the report.
