TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - As the fall COVID-19 season approaches, those in Florida looking for an updated vaccine are encountering some challenges in getting the shot.

Several viewers have reached out to WCTV recently, expressing frustration at attempts to get the annual COVID booster. It seems both chain and independent pharmacies alike are navigating murky regulatory waters to figure out what is and isn’t allowed.

As of Monday evening, several chain pharmacies are not offering the vaccine in Florida.

That includes Publix, which indicated Florida is the only state in their service area where the shot isn’t being offered to shoppers.

A request for clarification was sent to a Publix spokesperson, but WCTV has not heard back.
