WASHINGTON D.C., DC — A bill codifying President Donald Trump’s January executive order banning gender-affirming care for people under the age of 19 was introduced to Congress on Sept. 18.

H.R. 5483, known as the Chloe Cole Act, was introduced by Rep. Bob Onder of Missouri and co-sponsored by Rep. Mike Simpson of Idaho. It is sponsored in the Senate by Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee.

The bill is backed entirely by Republican lawmakers and was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on Thursday, Sept. 18.
