According to Benton County Fire District 1 Public Information Officer Jenna Roberts, the house sustained minimal superficial damage.

However, several vehicles were damaged or destroyed in the fire.

A small dog was found inside and was reunited with its owners upon their arrival at the scene.

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Firefighters battled a brush fire that threatened a home in the area of South Gum Street and East 17th Avenue in Kennewick Monday afternoon.

Benton County Fire District 1 reported the fire shortly after 1 p.m.

The fire district asked that people avoid the area so firefighters and their vehicles can safely access the fire.
