COLUMBUS, Ohio — Pictures, trophies and other memories — frozen in time — are one of the few ways the Granger family keeps their son Jacob Todd's presence alive.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, Jacob and another man were shot in February 2020. Jacob died as a result of his injuries.

Records show the accused shooter, German Sanchez Jr. , was just 16 at the time.

And since his arrest, the Granger family said Sanchez Jr.'s murder trial has been left in limbo.

"I stopped making plans [to follow the court case] and taking off work and I was like, 'Ok, let's just see if they say what they say is true, and we will go from there.' And then here we are six years later. I'm still feeling that way, as if it's not going to happen," said Jacob's father, Michael Granger.
