SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — After ten months of work, the $1.8 million plan to renovate and expand the Springdale Public Library is nearing completion.

"We're almost there. And it's starting to really feel real to all of us, and we can't wait to welcome the community inside," said Anne Gresham, director at Springdale Public Library.

The library was originally built in the 1960s, and while it's received some major upgrades since then, it hasn't seen a significant expansion in 25 years. Upon completion, the building will increase in size by 2,600 square feet.

"I think this is going to allow us to do what we're already doing, just bigger and better," Gresham said. "Our primary objective for the space is going to be for programs for families and for children. So, our classic story times
