BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Bentonville Schools has received a $20,000 grant to support finance education in the classroom.
It was all made possible by Synchrony, a consumer financial services company, and its goal of expanding personal finance education in schools across the United States.
"It helps students understand what they need to do coming out of school, what they need to build in terms of credit, and budgeting," said Jenn Cozens, executive director of Bentonville Schools Foundation. "Helps them understand what they can do now to be able to set themselves up for success in the future."
The district is currently building the application protocols. Bentonville teachers will then be able to start applying for the grant in mid-October.
