Australians heading to Hong Kong have been caught up in the chaos of Super Typhoon Ragasa, with Qantas suspending all flights to the city for the next 36 hours.
The airline confirmed on Monday night that services in and out of Hong Kong would be grounded from 8pm on Tuesday until Thursday morning, warning travellers of major disruptions.
Passengers affected will be contacted directly, with Qantas offering fee-free date changes or flight credits.
The suspension comes as Hong Kong ramps up preparations for what forecasters have described as a “serious threat,” with Ragasa packing sustained winds of more than 220km/h.
