MADISON, Wis. (WAOW) - A bill was introduced today in the Wisconsin Legislature aimed at revitalizing Northern Wisconsin's forestry industry.
State Sen. Mary Felzkowski (R-Tomahawk) is one of the bills authors.
Sen. Felzkowski says the bill would move forward a private investment of more than $1 billion dollars in Hayward for a new production mill.
She says it would take low quality pulpwood and turn it into aviation fuel - comparing the process to that of making ethanol from corn.
Funding would come from tax credits and state bonds in the forestry account.
