ALEXANDRIA — At its Monday meeting, the Alexandria City Council approved a special event permit for the Someplace Safe “Take A Stand Against Domestic Violence” event that will take place Tuesday, Oct. 14 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Participants will start walking at the Church of St. Mary and will walk on the sidewalk along Fifth Avenue East to Broadway. They will stand on the sidewalk along Broadway between Fourth Avenue and Fifth Avenue.

The group will then walk back to the Church of St. Mary.

More than 100 participants are expected to attend.

The council voted to table getting appraisals from Ruhland Commercial Consultants for conservation easements along the Southeast Watershed Trail .
