Tucked away between New Harmony's town center and the Pine Valley Mountains is a short, sweet trail that feels both welcoming and untamed.
In this episode of Discover the Desert, Holly Hadley, a former member of the New Harmony Planning Commission, joined me at the Comanche Nature Park to hike the rough-looking, but family-friendly, 1.1-mile Green Perimeter Trail. Town Councilman Norm Allen and his wife Judy also joined us for this ideal mini-adventure.
"The great thing about this nature park is it's great at all seasons of the year," Hadley said. "In the winter, it's beautiful snow. In the spring, you got the wildflowers. The fall, you got the acorns, and the leaves start to change. So, any season, it's a great place to come."
