BALTIMORE – Defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard said the Detroit Lions were treating Monday's matchup with the Baltimore Ravens as a litmus test early in the season.
"Where do you really stand against the big boys in the league?" Sheppard asked earlier this week.
Detroit showed a nationally-televised audience Monday night that they belong among the league's big boys.
They went on the road and beat a really good Ravens team, 38-30, improving to 2-1 on the season in the process.
Jahmyr Gibbs scored two rushing touchdowns (1 yard & 4 yards), David Montgomery had two rushing scores (1 & 31), and quarterback Jared Goff connected with wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown for an 18-yard touchdown.
Detroit scored on four of their five second-half possessions and racked up 426 total yards
