Australian cricket great Brad Haddin is on the mend after undergoing heart surgery this month.

The 47-year-old shared the news after returning home from a stint in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, which included time in intensive care.

He said the valve replacement operation was a success.

“I’ve had about a week in hospital, a couple days in ICU, a few days on the ward,” Haddin said on Willow Talk.

“But the surgeons and the team at RPA were absolutely outstanding.”

The ex-wicketkeeper turned coach and commentator said his heart was given an immediate test on the day he was discharged.

“I don’t think we really got that right — because it was the Raiders-Broncos game,” Haddin said, referencing the epic golden-point NRL finals clash on September 14.
