The Alpena High School cross country teams raced at the Petoskey High School on Saturday in a near steady rain after thunderstorms in the area prompted officials to combine and alter the original race schedules.
Running in the large school division with only Petoskey and AHS represented, the girls came out on top winning by a score of 25-31. Izzy Szymanski was the top Wildcat runner, placing second with a time of 21:35. She was followed in by Marian Renard in 3rd at 22:02, Gracelyn Heath 5th in 22:26, and Abigail Misiak 6th in 22:27. Lila Scott rounded out the scoring in 9th with a 23:25 time.
