The Kinston City Council set an Oct. 7 public hearing to consider a 4% decrease in the electric rate.

During the city council’s Sept. 16 meeting, Steve Miller, Kinston Public Services director, presented to council the results of an electric cost-of-service study, which recommended a 4% decrease on specific electric rate classes.
