A woman has been arrested following an alleged attempted bank robbery in Sydney's south.

Shortly after 10am, police responded to calls of an attempted armed robbery at a bank on Kingsgrove Road in Kingsgrove.

She was taken to Kogarah Police Station, where investigations are continuing following the incident.

The 38-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly entering the bank with a knife before threatening staff and demanding money.

There were no reported injuries following the incident.
