MEDINA, Ohio – In the hopes of attracting bidders to take on the U.S. 42 resurfacing project through the center of town, the city’s finance committee is looking to increase the estimate for the project.
City Engineer Patrick Patton said the city bid out the proposed project back in July but added that no bids were submitted.
“We got together with ODOT and our consulted and changed a couple of things,” he said. “We think our estimate might have been a little too tight and that scared some people off.”
Patton recommended increasing the construction estimate by roughly $278,000 making the total estimate of the project $2,143,600.
Patton said the resurfacing project will begin at Lafayette Road and go north on Court Street through the square to Homestead Street.
