Essendon star Jordan Ridley has committed his future to the club.
Ridley is contracted through to 2029, but was reportedly keen on a move to Brisbane after meeting with the Lions.
However, 7NEWS chief AFL reporter Mitch Cleary revealed the star defender has no intentions of exploring a trade. Loading Tweet
Ridley won the best and fairest in 2020 but has been hampered throughout the past two seasons.
He has managed just 19 games since the start of 2024, but has been an elite intercept defender when on the park.
“This off-season gave me a crucial opportunity to reflect on a challenging few years with injury. During that time, it became incredibly clear that my future is with Essendon,” Ridley said.
“I’m fully committed to playing my best football here. I have immense faith in Brad Sc
