Art of all kinds has taken over downtown Grand Rapids as it hosts its global celebration, ArtPrize.

" You'll find awe-inspiring sculptures, installations, paintings, and more as you wander through streets, parks, galleries, and restaurants," ArtPrize organizers said on the website. "Experience our one-of-a-kind events. Interactive, engaging, and always surprising, you'll view the spaces around you in a whole new light."

The nonprofit festival got underway Sept. 18 and continues through Saturday, Oct. 4, with winners announced (selected by the public and a panel of experts) the day before on Friday Oct. 3.

"Each year, we welcome over 800,000 visitors to discover the transformative power of art," the website notes.
