A mainstay of Aberdeen's shopping scene has closed its doors after 16 years in Union Square .

Clarks now no longer has an outlet in the Granite City, with the closest location an hour away in Dundee.

Signs have now been put up at the store's city centre location simply stating, "this store has closed" alongside information about its nearest shops - none of which are in the north-east.

Prior to its move to Union Square, Clarks had an outlet on Union Street and has been the go-to store for parents looking for schools shoes for their children ahead of the new school year for several decades.

The closure is the latest in a string of major changes to the shopping centre.
