State pensioners are being told to complete one task if they missed the Winter Fuel Payment deadline imposed by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

State pensioners who wanted to opt out of the Winter Fuel Payment, which is worth £200 or £300 from the DWP, should have done so by September 15.

Two million people in England and Wales who are over the state pension age and have a taxable income of more than £35,000 will not be allowed to keep the Allowance from the DWP after the Labour Party government changed the eligibility criteria.
