The US Secret Service has revealed it dismantled a significant network of electronic devices in New York, just ahead of a speech by President Donald Trump. This operation was prompted by the identification of an "imminent threat" to the President as global leaders convene for the UN General Assembly in the city.
The Secret Service, tasked with the protection of Trump and other high-ranking officials, reported the discovery of approximately 300 SIM servers and 100,000 SIM cards across various locations in the New York tristate area. This extensive network was reportedly capable of disrupting mobile networks and facilitating secure communication among hostile actors.
The operation underscores the heightened security measures in place during such high-profile international events, particularly given the potential risks associated with large gatherings of world leaders.
