SPARTANBURG, S.C. —

The sign on a Spartanburg County McDonalds says "unsafe" after a fire at the restaurant Monday night.

The fire happened at the McDonalds on Cedar Springs Road and was reported about 12:30 a.m.

A firefighter was injured and taken to the hospital, but has been released.

South Spartanburg Fire District

The South Spartanburg Fire Department said heavy smoke was seen inside the building and coming from the roof. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
