ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - Wolf-dog hybrids sound like something out of your favorite fantasy novel, but several call the city of Roanoke home.

“Confining them is nearly impossible. Creating a containment that will keep them contained is incredibly challenging,” Dr. Mark Freeman with the Virginia Tech animal hospital said.

The city of Roanoke recently banned ownership of the dogs .

They don’t look much different than regular dogs, except they’re bigger and look very similar to wolves.
