PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office is hosting its first annual winter coat drive October 1 through November 14.

The sheriff’s office is requesting assistance from community partners in collecting new or gently worn winter coats from children’s size x-small to adult size large for children in Pittsylvania County elementary schools. Monetary donations are also accepted to purchase coats.

The sheriff’s office says many children in need of them come from families facing financial hardship.

You can donate by dropping off your coats the following locations,

Any Pittsylvania County elementary school

Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office

Target at Coleman Marketplace in Danville Saturday, October 11, Saturday, October 25, and Saturday, November 8 from 1
