SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The hottest day of the forecast arrives Tuesday with heat advisories across the Bay Area. Some daytime highs inland are reaching into the triple digits.

This heat won't last long, though, as daytime highs fall quickly Wednesday with a chance of thunderstorms for parts of the Bay Area. The rest of the week's forecast will see temperatures only maxing out in the 80s, in some cases 20 degrees cooler than today's highs.

A Spare the Air Alert is in effect Tuesday for the Bay Area. Air officials recommend people restrict outdoor exercise to the early morning hours when ozone concentrations are lower.

Sunrise in San Francisco is at 6:59 a.m. Sunset is at 7:04 p.m.
