FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — South Fulton Mayor Khalid Kamau pleaded not guilty on Tuesday, nearly two years after he was accused of breaking into a private lake house.
Kamau was charged with criminal trespassing. Kamau entered a not guilty plea and waived his arraignment. His next court date is Nov. 3.
In July 2023, a police report states that a homeowner received a notification from surveillance that someone was walking onto his property. According to the homeowner, he watched the person, later identified as Kamau, walk up the driveway toward his home and lake house, which is located a bit further away from his home on the property. By the time the homeowner made his way to the lake house, Kamau was already inside.
