Former star Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris is out for the rest of the season with a torn Achilles tendon, according to multiple reports. The rest of the season will be the first games that Harris has missed in his entire NFL career.
Harris got injured after taking a step on a play action passing play and going down in a heap. Harris was carted off the field and officially deemed out with an ankle injury initially.
It has been a less-than-ideal season for Harris overall. He suffered an eye injury before training camp even started in a Fourth of July fireworks explosion in his hometown of Antioch, California.
Harris signed a one-year deal with the Chargers in March after four seasons with the Steelers. He was expected to split carries with first-round pick Omarion Ham
