BERTIE COUNTY, N.C. — A woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the homicide of her 2-year-old daughter, Jamie Drain, authorities said Monday.
Wethersfield, Connecticut, police responded to a domestic-related incident around 6:20 p.m., during which officers discovered that 28-year-old Rajasaffiyya Drain, Jamie’s mother, had an outstanding full extradition warrant from the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office for homicide. Connecticut authorities contacted Bertie County deputies after the arrest.
Drain remains in Connecticut, but deputies are beginning the process of extraditing her to North Carolina.
