COVENTRY, Conn. (WFSB) - Police in Coventry are asking for the public’s help in locating the owner of a 9-foot albino Burmese python found earlier this week.
According to the Coventry Police Department, the large snake was discovered on Sept. 22 near the intersection of South River Road and Talcott Hill Road.
Officers were able to safely capture the python, which is not native to the area.
Authorities believe the snake may have been a pet that either escaped or was abandoned.
Anyone with information about the snake or its possible owner is asked to contact Community Service Officer Chipman at 860-742-4074.
Police did not report any injuries or threats to public safety related to the incident.
