Hyderabad, Sept 23 (Maxim News): The Election Commission of India (ECI) is preparing to undertake a special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list in all the states of the country. The EC has asked the Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of the states to be ready for ‘SIR’ by 30th of this month.

The EC reminded that the voter list will have to be revised based on the last ‘SIR’ conducted in each state. In this regard, the EC has told the officials to keep the voter lists of the states published earlier ready. The EC has explained in principle that there are chances of starting the voter list cleansing program (SIR) by October-November.
