CLINTON COUNTY, Ill. — Seven months ago, a Clinton County teen’s car collided head-on with an ambulance .

The crash left her with thirty-five broken bones, seven surgeries, days in a coma, and more than seven weeks in the ICU and rehabilitation. Doctors warned her family she might not live through the night.

On Monday morning, Maci McCabe was involved in another car crash. Thankfully, this time, she wasn’t hurt.

The new accident comes just two days after her triumphant return to the field. On Saturday, Maci was back in uniform, lifted high into the air by her teammates at Lindenwood University’s first home football game. It was a moment she once thought would never come, and one that left her nearly speechless.
