Police have made an arrest after asking the public for help identifying the suspect in a violent sexual assault in Phoenix that happened in August 2025.

On Sept. 20, Luis Gustavo Prudente Tapia, 24, was arrested in connection with the incident and accused of aggravated assault, kidnapping and sexual assault, according to Phoenix police spokesperson Sgt. Phil Krynsky, in a Sept. 22 media advisory emailed to The Arizona Republic.
