A mother and her baby were rescued in Meda, Italy on Monday by a firefighter helicopter team after flooding and mudslides hit the northern part of the country.
The National Civil Protection Service issued a “orange” warning alert on Tuesday in Lombardy, Veneto and Lazio regions as conditions are expected to worsen in the Tyrrhenian coast and parts of the south.
Firefighters evacuated people from their homes, vehicles and cleared flooded roads after attending to over 600 calls.
