GRAND LEDGE, Mich. (WILX) - At the Grand Ledge Public School Board meeting, Superintendent Bill Barnes announced that he will not terminate teacher and city councilmember Dave Logel over a controversial social media post made following the death of Charlie Kirk.

A community member at the meeting quoted Logel’s post, stating:

“And that teacher in question wrote, ‘If you posted today about the death of a fascist, not the death of a child in a school shooting, please unfollow me.’”

During the public comment portion of the meeting, 28 individuals shared their views on the situation. Some called for Logel’s dismissal.

“I don’t want my children to be taught by somebody that can say that to somebody,” said another community member.
